The Northwest Port Union (NWSA), which is composed of the Port of Seattle and Tacoma, recorded a 5% reduction in container throughput in September 2017, of which the arrival of cargo containers fell by 14% to 125,384 TEUs. It rose 7% to 127,790 TEUs.

Benefiting from a 7% increase in shipments outside the continental United States, NWSA’s total container throughput during the first nine months of the year increased by 4% compared to the same period last year.
