According to American Shipper, in July 2017, the volume of container cargo at the Port of New York/New Jersey was 576,947 TEUs, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year.

In July, container arrivals increased by 6% year-on-year to 291,760 TEUs, containers from outbound containers rose by 3.2% to 112,694 TEUs, arrivals of empty containers increased by 2.2% to 1,473 TEUs, and outbound containers rose by 16.8% to 171,020 TEUs.

From January to July, the container throughput of the port totaled 3.81 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.

On June 8 this year, a 18,000 TEU container ship arrived at the New York/New Jersey port via Bayonne Bridge.
